If you’d like to add a cult beauty destination to your list, might I suggest The Bathroom in NYC’s West Village? Just off the strip best known for Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Book Marc and the Marcnolia Bakery, you’ll find this tiny haunt chock full of my favorite kind o’ stuff … i.e. beauty stuff that no one’s heard of!
The store stocks everything from fragrance to skincare to haircare to men’s to oral care to baby to bathroom decor! My favorites to stock up on include Lady Cremo Shave Cream ($12), Maria Evora Black Soap ($8.50), D.L. & Co. Black Skull Candles ($60 for the large), and Cloverine balm (which isn’t on the website).

Little bonus factor today: while pulling up my all-time favorite cult summer fragrance - the quite reasonably priced Kirna by Kirna Zabête - I found a new cult sunglasses brand. So I’m sharing. Hey, high quality UV sunnies are an important beauty tool to prevent aging in the eye area.
Does this: Smells like you just stepped out of an outdoor shower where you were spending a moment with a smoking hot guy who happened to be using a slightly citrus-y Italian bar soap. Or, “Monet’s water lilies on acid” - per the makers.
