There are a few things that attracted me makeup brand Jouer…
1. The creator, retired model and lovely mom Christina Zilber
2. Beautiful colors, soft formulas, easy application
3. The entire line feels whimsical and romantic
You can use a single item or the entire line and love the outcome. I’m pretty sure Jouer has a little something for anyone’s face. My favorite products as of late are the Lip Sheers, specifically in the new Rosy Stain and St. Barths. They look sheer but they leave a beautiful natural looking color on my lips.
Aside from the stains, the Luminizing Tinted Moisturizer creates a natural looking dewy glow for days you don’t feel like wearing full foundation. The Lumizing Cheek Tint is the perfect complement in shade and texture to the moisturizer. And it has a little sparkle to it.

NYX - masters of funky colored/fantastic products at an incredibly affordable price - have some new releases that I highly suggest you know about.
Macaron Lippie: Do you dare wear green/yellow/grey/black/lavender lips? If you do (there’s a time and place for everything) these highly pigmented lipsticks go on silky smooth, and come in the most unusual, but pretty bomb, colors.
$5.99 at Ulta
Proof it! Waterproof Eyebrow Primer: This primer means business. The formula looks a little bit like cement (ironically - clear once on) and it will assure that your brow powder stays safely adhered all day.
$7 at NYXcosmetics.com
Honey Dew Me Up: A combination of the magic properties of honey (a natural antiseptic), gold flakes and collagen results in the ultimate dewy touch while priming your face. And there is gold in it so, this rocks.
$17 at NYXcosmetics.com
All Over Balm: Find it in three different combos - Macadamia Nut Oil with Honey/Vanilla Butter; Coconut Oil with Coconut/Vanilla Butter; and Argan Oil with Lychee/Vanilla Butter. This balm is for lips, cuticles, hands, dry elbows, anything that needs balming and it comes in a slightly over-sized Moroccan inspired tin.
Each $6.50 at NYXcosmetics.com
Renew & Balance Skin Elixirs: Balance with tea tree oils or renew with coenzyme Q10 (fancy). These green and purple primers are means for a pristine/radiant canvas before say, adhering those dramatic eyebrows?
Renew $12 at NYXcosmetics.com; Balance $12 at NYXcosmetics.com
Wonder Stick: This evolution of the wonder pencil takes contouring (an intimidating make up move) and makes it so easy. One side of the stick is the highlight, one the contour, and the side of the box shows you exactly how to use it for the ultimate face contour-tion.

What’s not to love about Urban Outfitters? All those lose fitting floral dresses + Chuck Taylor’s + beaded hair pieces of sorts + hilarious books..
Okay, never mind the books. Has anyone else noticed that their beauty section is um - amazing recently?
Here are five cultish pulls that are worth taking a glimpse of (if not purchasing) the next time you are in your neighborhood UO.
1. EVO Hair Care - With clever names like “the therapist,” “root canal,” “easy tiger” and “shape vixen,” these products are difficult to walk by without reading. EVO has an extensive hair care line filled with great products that address your hair care needs in a laughably creative way.
Find them in stores at Urban Outfitters or online at Look Fantstic | Most products $29.95 - $32
2. Mizon Good Night White Sleeping Mask - You probably haven’t heard of them until now, and for good reason - they’re actually a Korean skin care line. Of course Urban was cool enough to recruit Mizon for their store and embrace the unknown characters on the packaging. The Good Night Sleep Mask works wonders while you dream, turning you into quite literally a sleeping beauty.
Find this at Urban Outfitters or Urbanoutfitters.com | $24 for larger size - tube picture above sold out online!
3. Lime Crime Lipsticks - yes the colors are brilliant and yes there is a holographic unicorn adhered to the cake-pop-purple tube. Need I say more?
Find these at Urban Outfitter or Urbanoutfitters.com | $18
4. Cocooil - Coconut oil is everything. But you beauties already knew that. This particular genre of Cocooil includes a few additional fruit fueled oils like apricot and grape, making it a turbo charged version of traditional coconut oil that you really should consider putting all over your body, because your skin/face/hair will love it that much.
Find this in stores at Urban Outfitters of Urbanoutfitters.com | $25
5. 3D Ampoule Face Masks - if you find traditional mud masks to be a complete bore, pick up one of these funky masks and I guarantee you will be amused. Unlike a mud mask, expect to stay put throughout the duration of the masking process. Or go to a costume party as a ghost/mask face. Your choice.
Find these at Urban Outfitters or Urbanoutfitters.com | $5

Bare Minerals (brought to me in 2003 via infomercial) has really grown to support their cult following. Over the past 10 years they have become so much more than mineral powder, offering everything up to their new BARESKIN foundation.
Did I mention that they also made a funky/cool foundation brush to go with it?
I could fall asleep wearing bareMinerals and not have to worry about waking up with a zit.(Though, I’m a religious face-washer.) Their new liquid foundation is as pure as a foundation could possibly be - formulated with the bare minimum of ingredients. In fact, you have to shake it up before you use it because it doesn’t contain any premixing chemicals. I’ll say it once more. P-URE.
I am not a fan of heavy liquid foundations. This one is weightless, while still providing coverage (magic). And, it has a coconut derived base, which makes me feel good because coconut oil is the new everything. In fact the mix of ingredients is so thought out and pure (last time) it is tone correcting + brightening + a foundation all in one.
Oh and the fun brush? Add a droplet of the foundation into the pool-reservoir-like area and then rub it on your face for application. The brush is multi purpose too - application + face yoga device.
Does This: Liquid foundation free of oil, silicone, water, parabens, and fragrance with SPF 20 and a good for you ingredients
Is This: bareMinerals BARESKIN foundation
Get This: Foundation at Sephora Here (though I’d visit first to make sure you are grabbing the right shade) and cool brush Here
Price: Foundation $29; Reservoir Brush $28

When it comes to style, I usually shy away from pastels. Maybe it’s because I’m craving winter/sick of black/want to resemble a flower but I’ve been really attracted to pastels recently.
Which brings me to this pressed powder…
SO pretty. Right? I almost don’t even care what it does - I just want it around so that I can look at it! Of course, Jane Cosmetics did not (just) make this powder as a pastel statement for your makeup bag, it is a makeup essential.
Remember the first time someone told you you correct red spots with green and you looked at them like “huh?” - you know where this is going. This pastel palette is actually a combination of colors that work together to even your skin tone before putting on make up. Take your largest fluffiest brush, mix it around the, and puff over clean skin.
The colors blend together to even out the complexion of your skin and provide a beautiful mattified canvas for you to then apply coverage.
Does This: Evens out skin tone and complexion
Is This: Jane Multi-Colored Color Correcting Powder
