These are more than just delicious soaps that make showers feel like bathing in hot tea water (in the best way).

They are the result of someones effort to better the world.. see below

Erin Zaikis started making Sundara soaps after her life changing adventure abroad. [Read the full story here.]  Each soap is hand made, chalked with beautiful aromatic spices, molded into an exotic flower, and packaged up in a little linen pouch. There are three different types, each representative of the country that it was inspired by. Profits benefit programs that support hygiein in Ghana, Thailand, and Mumbai..

See the impact Sundara is having in Haiti - installing clean water systems and teaching youngin’s how to wash their hands!

The sun is awake later and slowly 30 temperature days are being phased out.. leaving me on a summer skincare bender.

My ideal qualities in a great summer skin line - light, quick to dry, non greasy, gentle and eau natural. California Naturel, is all that.

Maybe it’s the printed palms on the front, this line makes me think of products found in a tropical resort or spa. It makes sense, California Naturel did draw their product inspo from the beachy terrain of California. The Gentle Cleansing Gel, Nourishing Cream, and Balancing Complex are a nice reflection of this.

All three products met all of my summer skincare criteria and then some. I really love the Balancing Complex. It is a light gel formula, so light it’s closer to a liquid than a gel. Perfect for summer skin that get’s a little oily - it’s moisturizing but dries to a soft matte finish. The Nourishing Cream while still light has a little more substance, great for those still recovering from artificial heat or looking to beat fine lines. All three products incorporate natural ingredients that faces love including aloe, olive and jojoba oils, and alfafa extract.

So thrilled to have been asked to take part in Rimmel London’s Mod Mania campaign.  I grew up in London and have been using this cult British brand’s makeup my whole life - their products just keep getting better.

For this 60’s inspired look, created by Yuui for Rimmel (hair by my girl Remy Lane Moore), we pumped up a cat eye with an extra thick inky line using Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner, and created a softer version of the classic mod look using Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Witness White and Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Mercury Silver. The upper lashes were faux, enhanced with Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara which we also applied to the bottom lashes to complete the look.  Check out the ingenious brush which wings out lashes and plumps them at the center … for bold, wide-eyed volume inspired by the Twiggy era.

If you’re inspired to create a look inspired by the mod era, click over to Rimmel’s tumblr to upload (and find tons of inspiration) for a chance to win prizes from Rimmel London … including a trip to New York City!  You can also simply tag your tweets or Instagram looks with #ModMonday and @rimmellondonus.

And check out the whole Retro Glam campaign for even more inspiration!

Hard Candy just released a collection of ombre lip sticks. Further proving the point that not all brilliant products have to break the bank

While fun to play with on paper.. these lip sticks are perfect for creating a dramatic lip in one swipe (and a bit of blending). Each lip stick is has a dark and light color, giving your lips a little additional luster and ‘joosh’ … if you know what I mean.

Best method is to always put the lighter shade towards the inside of your mouth and darker towards the outline of your lip.

While I am not bold enough to rock this style, I’d love to see any pictures of you who do! Tweet us cultofpretty or tag us on Instagram with @cultograms.

I’ve gotten into the habit of spraying my face with something before bed, you know, an elixir or whatnot. A few weeks ago I ran out of my favorite (shoot). But then a little bottle of C Booth Honey Almond Dry Oil Mist appeared out of no where in my stash of products.
I grabbed it and spritzed, and I’ve used it every night (occasional morning) since.

I admit at first I was unsure of how I felt about this dry oil mist because upon first spray, it smells like you are sticking your face into a cupcake. But you know what? I’m into it.
After the initial face full of almondy-vanilla goodness, the scent fades and my face instantly drinks up the oil. It’s a sweet addiction.
If dry oils aren’t your thing - you can also experience this delicious scent via body lotion, body butter, body wash, or hand cream.(Try all at one time and you could be mistaken for a walking dessert, i.e. girl above.)

Horses are fun to look at, even more fun to ride.
And turns out, fun to steal products from.

Yes that says horse edition.  Two of our cult favorites were initially make for horses, who woulda thunk it?
You are probably familiar with Mane N’ Tail shampoo and conditioner. I remember seeing pages dedicated to this product in spreads of my pre-teen mags and thinking “I Need That.” Unfortunately, L’Oreal Kids shampoo won over mom (boo). Years later, Mane N’ Tail is still a cult favorite for ladies looking to have locks as luscious as a horse’s mane - n’ tail too. Due to popular demand they have expanded from shampoo and conditioner into an entire line of styling products including detangler. Which I am using now since I didn’t get to indulge back in the 90’s.
The second one is a MUST GRAB drugstore find when it’s in stock: Healthy Hoof. Technically this is for your cuticles (hoofs = nails) but I’ve found that it works amazingly well as a before bed cream for anything that is excruciatingly dry. Heels, hands, elbows - whatever.

I saw this product a few weeks ago and did a double take.

Milk, for your face?

I put a few droplets on the back of my hand and it sank right into my skin. And felt pretty silky smooth. Josie Maran’s new ‘Milk’ formula includes her cult Argan Oil, but it also uses purified water. She made this to be power food for your face. Especially for those with dry/sensitive skin, it has intensive moisturizing abilities and can even help symptoms of eczema and rosacea.

We wonder …could beauty milks be the next evolution of the beauty oil

Ann mentioned in her beautiful feature on Barney’s The Window (see here!) the importance of a ‘pop of pink’. Something bright right on the apples of your cheeks - equally flattering as it is mood-enhancing.

A new little ‘pop of pink’ crossed my desk the other day … this daisy shaped pressed powder by Clinique called, appropriately enough, Cheek PopBerry Pop (pinkest) is my favorite. Should you want a pop of a slightly different color, they also come in Peach Pop, Plum Pop, and Ginger Pop
