I’m a diehard stain fan - I wear a few different ones - but (I swear this is true) I watched a Refinery29 tutorial about how to look good in photos and they sold me on the fact that glossy lips make you look 100x more alive. The problem is, applying gloss over stain really degrades the stain, making it disappear in no time.
